Terms & Conditions
1. General
By placing an order through this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not place an order.
We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. The version in force at the time of purchase shall apply.
2. Products Sold
We sell the following categories of products:
- Live shrimp
- Shrimp food and dry goods
- Botanicals (natural leaves, seed pods, and similar materials)
- Live aquatic plants
Each product category is subject to the specific conditions outlined below.
3. Shipping & Delivery
- All orders are shipped via Royal Mail.
- Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
- The official delivery time is the time recorded by Royal Mail’s tracking system.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by the courier, weather conditions, or circumstances beyond our control.
Customers are responsible for providing a correct and complete delivery address and for ensuring someone is available to receive the parcel.
4. Live Shrimp – Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy
4.1 Definition of DOA
A shrimp is considered Dead on Arrival (DOA) only if it is deceased at the time of delivery, as confirmed by Royal Mail’s delivery timestamp.
4.2 DOA Claim Requirements
To be eligible for a DOA claim, all of the following conditions must be met:
- Clear, unedited photographs of the deceased shrimp inside the original, unopened shipping bag(s)
- Images must clearly show the shrimp and water level
- Photographs and claim details must be submitted within 30 minutes of delivery
- Claims must be sent by email to wyldeshrimp@gmail.com
- The email must include the order number and customer name
Delivery time is strictly defined as the time recorded by Royal Mail, not when the parcel is opened.
4.3 DOA Exclusions
DOA claims will not be accepted if:
- Submitted more than 30 minutes after recorded delivery
- Shrimp removed from shipping bags prior to photographs being taken
- Photographic evidence is unclear, edited, or incomplete
- Delivery was delayed due to customer action (missed delivery, redirection, incorrect address)
- Losses occur after acclimation or introduction into an aquarium
- Losses result from extreme weather or circumstances beyond our control
4.4 Resolution of Approved DOA Claims
Approved DOA claims will be resolved at our discretion by either:
- A refund for the confirmed DOA shrimp only, or
- Store credit equal to the value of the confirmed DOA shrimp
Shipping costs are non-refundable.
5. Live Plants
Live aquatic plants are living organisms and naturally vary in size, shape, and appearance.
- Minor damage, melting, or leaf loss after shipping is normal and not grounds for refund
- DOA cover is not provided for live plants unless they arrive clearly rotten or liquefied
- Any issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with clear photographic evidence
6. Shrimp Food, Botanicals & Dry Goods
Shrimp food, botanicals, and other dry goods are non-perishable retail items.
- Returns are accepted only for unused and unopened items
- Issues must be reported within 48 hours of delivery
- Opened, used, or contaminated items cannot be returned or refunded
Botanicals are natural products and may vary in size, colour, and appearance. Natural variation is not considered a defect.
7. No Returns on Live Animals
Due to biosecurity and animal welfare reasons, live shrimp cannot be returned under any circumstances.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is strictly limited to the purchase price of the affected product only. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of livestock, income, or enjoyment.
9. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
